Baramulla, Apr 23 (KNO): Amidst a wave of protests and solidarity marches in response to a deadly Pahalgam attack, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore leads a rally, calling for unity and peace, while Kashmiri Pandits in Baramulla join hands in morning, demanding justice.
Speaking to reporters, Addl DC, S A Raina, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the incident in Pahalgam is very unfortunate and should never have happened. “Every human life matters and it should be respected and safeguarded.”
From early morning, Sopore witnessed multiple peaceful protests, with residents demanding lasting peace and unity in the region. “People here want peace, prosperity, and harmony,” Raina added, offering prayers and support to the victims' families and those injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, in Baramulla, members of the Kashmiri Pandit community took to the streets, raising slogans such as “We Want Justice” and “Stop Innocent Killings.” The demonstrators called on the authorities to act swiftly against those responsible and ensure the safety of all communities.
Earlier in the day, the Bar Association Baramulla also staged a protest, strongly condemning the attack. As a mark of solidarity, the association announced a shutdown of all court-related work for the day.
